How to Choose a Network Marketing Coach or Mentor?

This post considers how to choose a Network Marketing coaching program. A good Network Marketing coach is invaluable for meeting your goals.

At 14 years old, I wanted to be like John McEnroe, the famous tennis player. I was good at tennis. At age 17, I realized that goal was impossible. I could not make the grade in the premier league of tennis.

What I did not know at the time was John McEnroe learned from a tennis coach and mentor Milos Raonic. The only coaching that I had in tennis was from my high school tennis coach in a group setting. The personal touch was never there. So, I never succeeded to make the cut in the premiere leagues.

When we have a burning desire to becoming the top earner and leader in Network Marketing, we need only to look at choosing a Network Marketing coaching program.

But how do we choose a good Network Marketing mentor or coach? Choose a network marketing personal coaching program by the three qualities of integrity, competence, and relations and communications.


The best Network Marketing training starts with choosing a Network Marketing coach or mentor that has integrity. A Network Marketing coaching program must have a mentor who has integrity.

A mentor needs to be honest and demonstrate integrity. Someone you trust; someone who will always do and say what is right in any situation.

There are many mentors to choose from. What you want to look at is a person who has the honesty to look at a situation in Network Marketing and offer different than run-of-the-mill solutions.

Don’t go with someone who is popular. Go with someone who teaches you the skills of what to say and what to do.

The two things that are lacking in most Network Marketing coaching programs are mentors who teach their students what to say and what to do.

What happens when a new distributor in Network Marketing feels he or she does not have anybody to talk to? If they are not trained in the art of prospecting and recruiting by what they say and do, they will fail.


The next important quality is competence in their subject. Competence is not just knowing the subject. It is also the ability to read a situation, act appropriately and make decisions with wisdom.

It stands to reason that a successful Network Marketing coaching program is built on the Network Marketing ideas of competency. If a mentor is not fluid and well learned in their field, then they are not worth their salt.

If you want to learn how to start a Network Marketing business that creates unlimited income, you must start with a well-versed mentor and competent in the field of Network Marketing.

And you must not feel you are entitled to this mentor’s coaching. You are not entitled to a Network Marketing mentor’s knowledge and understanding unless you pay for it.

Relations and Communication.

The third quality is a Network Marketing coaching program must have a mentor that relates well and communicates with other people. It is especially important for both the student and mentor to understand one another and communicate well, being thoughtful and kind, rather than selfish and self-centered.

There should be a trade-off and exchange between you and the mentor. You need to pay them. Good mentors are not cheap. Many will cost you hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars.

In exchange for money the mentor needs to give you something of value by communicating and relating their wisdom and ideas to you in a clear fashion.

There are four skills which a good mentor must communicate. Building rapport, ice-breakers, closing and presentation. And those skills must be taught in the exact order of rapport building, ice-breakers, closing and presentation.

You have to know how to build trust before you can speak. And once you build trust and rapport, you need to know what to say to introduce your business or products into a normal social conversation without being rejected or feeling intrusive… this is art of ice-breakers. Then you need to know how to close so that the last part, presentation, feels natural to prospects.
